The Cactus Gardens
Situated in Guatiza village on the north east coast, the Cactus Garden is home to over 10,000 cacti and succulents of 1,450 different species. This area is the centre of Lanzarote's cochineal industry with several hundred acres planted with the prickly pear or tunera cactus from which the cochineal beetle is collected for its dye. |
The Green Caves (Cuevas de los Verdes)
Named after owners called Green and for colours in the roofs and walls, the caves form a representative section of the 7.5km Atlantida, the longest volcanic tunnel in the world.
